Prep Time: 5–10 minutes
Cook Time: 6–10 minutes
Ingredients
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- ½ cup milk (any kind)
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon melted butter or oil
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- Cooking spray or a little oil for greasing
Optional toppings:
- Maple syrup, honey, fresh fruits, chocolate chips, or powdered sugar
Equipment
- Air fryer
- Small mixing bowl
- Whisk or fork
- Small heatproof pan or cake pan that fits in your air fryer basket
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Preheat
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 3–5 minutes.
Step 2: Mix Dry Ingredients
- In a bowl, combine:
- ½ cup flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- Whisk together so everything is evenly mixed.
Step 3: Mix Wet Ingredients
- In another bowl, whisk together:
- ½ cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon melted butter or oil
- ½ teaspoon vanilla (optional)
Step 4: Combine
- Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients.
- Mix gently until just combined.
- Tip: Don’t overmix; small lumps are fine. Overmixing makes pancakes tough.
Step 5: Prepare Air Fryer Pan
- Lightly grease a small pan, silicone mold, or cake pan that fits in your air fryer basket.
- Pour batter into the pan (about ½–¾ inch thick).
Step 6: Cook in Air Fryer
- Place the pan in the air fryer basket.
- Cook at 350°F (175°C) for 6–10 minutes.
- Check at 6 minutes: the pancake should be golden and a toothpick inserted in the center should come out clean.
- If not fully cooked, continue 1–2 minutes and check again.
Step 7: Serve
- Let the pancake cool for 1–2 minutes.
- Use a spatula to carefully remove it from the pan.
- Add your favorite toppings: syrup, fruit, chocolate chips, or a sprinkle of powdered sugar.
