Step 3: Prepare Cheese and Cream Layer

Optional: Sprinkle extra shredded cheese on top for a golden, bubbly finish.
Step 5: Bake the Pie
- Bake at 190°C / 375°F for 15-20 minutes.
- Top should be golden and slightly bubbly.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before slicing to help the layers set.
Step 6: Add Fresh Toppings
Add any desired toppings just before serving:
- Cilantro
- Sliced jalapeños
- Olives
- Diced tomatoes
- Salsa or guacamole
This keeps fresh flavors from wilting in the oven.
Flavor Tips
- For smoky depth, use smoked paprika or chipotle powder in meat.
- For extra creaminess, add more sour cream to the cheese layer.
- For extra spice, mix a few diced green chiles into the crust (cheese crust) or meat.
- Leftover taco pie slices reheat well in the oven or air fryer for 5 minutes at 180°C / 350°F.
